Hello

I\'m researching my family tree - the Potters, and have got a bit stuck (and in a bit of a pickle, too!). I\'ve gone back as far as John Potter (1738 - 1784), and couldn\'t find any more information on his ancestors. Then I stumbled upon this site, which shows many more Potters in this area. The Potters I am related to lived in the West Wratting/Weston Colville/Linton area. I can\'t seem to tie up the Potters on this site, unless they are related to the father of John Potter or something.

If there are any Potters still living in the area, I\'d love to hear from them.

Many Thanks
Bongo

Is there an Andrea out there also researching the Farrant family? When I was on Ancestry a couple of years ago I came across someone called Andrea who had traced my father-in-law Albert to Oakley Rd in Bromley and wondered if she or somebody who knows her uses this site. Would be grateful for any information.

Hi Amber Do you have any information relating to James Hunebull who married Sarah (unknown) in 1758 in Helions Bumpstead? Do you have dates and parents for James, Sarah’s surname, etc. From Ancestry.com I have children listed as James Hannibal (1759-1807), Catherine Hunebull (1768- ) and Mary Hunebull (1770-1777). It seems that there should be 3 or 4 other children born between James and Catherine. I am looking for Hannah who was born in about 1761. Thanks.

For Malc, hello don\'t know if you still look at this page but was interested to read your posts on pages 29&30. My husband\'s grandfather was John Farrant and Esther Tarvin\'s son, Albert. He was born in Steeple Bumstead but the family moved to Castle Hedingham. By the 1901 Albert was living in Bromley, Kent and working as a groom. Look forward to hearing your comments!

Hi Jenny, Susan and everyone who has lots of information on the Backler family

My Grandad called Frederick Arthur Mizon Backler

Working on a Irene Bradnam marriage today and found a possible marriage to this fellow Frederick. Such an unusual name I googled it and found this entry/page. Kelly if you are still watching the posts is this your grandmothers name and her parents being Herbert and Ethel. Extremely distantly related, but would like confirmation before making entry into my database. Kay Sturgeon, Gol Gol NSW Australia.

Hi Angie Martin. Don\'t. Know if this is any help, but there was a Cornell family lived in Gt. Wratting up to 1990s. Lived in the council houses on Withersfield road. Had large family of daughters. He worked on a farm. Think he may have originated from other area. I know Leys farm. There are still some of the daughters alive and living in Haverhill. I think his name was Fred. But can find out.. Think the address was 1 moor pasture way. Hope this is of some help

Is there anyone out there also researching Cornell(Barnadiston) or Brown (Cowling) ? I have hit a brick wall. My GG Grandfather was Thomas Cornell b 1826 -1830 who married Rhoda Brown Barnardiston 1848 (parents William & Maria) He appears to be living with grandparents on 1840 Census? the families worked at Leys Farm. Recently spent a few days in the area searching the cemeteries but was unable to get anymore info, too poor to afford headstones etc. Mind you still enjoyed the trip, Cowling in particular was beautiful with the thatched cottages. Gooing back again as soon as we can. Regards Angie

Notanumber. No problem. I worked with both of them for a short time. May be a different family but not a lot of Baker familys in town. May put you on right track. Neville lived in coronation cottages last I knew.

Notanumber. I remember a baker family living at the top of north avenue. This one was Arthur Baker. Had a family but not sure of names. Also know of a Neville Baker, he lived in Haverhill but moved to Gt Wratting think in late 80s. Think very possible same family. Any more help I can give let me know.

I think this is the First time that iI have posted on this Board, as I\'m usually on the others.

But I am the one now asking for info on some People/Family that once lived in Haverhill, and I do so on behalf of someone that is desperately trying to re-contact the parties named.

I am looking for a Jenny Baker she was married to Neville Baker, they had 3 children Andrew (approx 44yrs),Ricky (approx 39yrs) and a Jo Jo (approx 32 yrs) their ages now, Jenny would be around 67 and they lived on the brow of the hill either at Eastern Avenue, or Northern Avenue or indeed? The Queensway area.

If any of you Good People on here, night know these indivduels, or the whereabouts of them, please contact me through this Board e.mail, personally to me.....Many Thanks

earthmotherO. Re Bareham/Barham. There was a Helen Bareham that worked at T Bolton & son, Birdbrook, Essex. Couple of miles from Wixoe, she would prob be in her 70s. Also was a family of Barehams that had a flower business at stoke road, Clare suffolk. Few miles from Wixoe. That\'s only ones I know of. May have been more in Wixoe before the 60s. Wixoe is in the middle of sudbury suffolk and halstead Essex. Just outside sturmer.

Colyton, EnglandPosted by earthmother0 at 8:50PM on 29th April, 2013. (86.151.xxx.xxx)

My Great Great grandfather was Joseph Barham born 1812 and christened on 12.7.1812 at Wixoe. His parents were Joseph Bareham married to Mary Norton. His siblings were James Barham, Eliger Barham, Emma Barham and William Barham.
On 18.4.1836 Joseph joined the army and was in the 43rd. Regiment of Foot. He served 7 years and 10 months in North America. He was 37 when he was discharged. On 15.4.1852 he was in the Military Lunatic Asylum in Yarmouth and was declared Insane and unfit for further service. In 1852 he married Susannah Green and in 1853 they had a son Isaac Parmenter Barham. Their marraige did not survive. I don\'t know when he died. I was wondering if there were still some Barhams living in the area who might be related to me. :)

Hi Patnor. Just to let you know if you get to sturmer church, go up path, go left, along the wall beside sturmer hall there is a grave for pask, it has marble surround, this is one pask, carry on round to the right by side, right hand side half way along another pask grave, also marble surround. There are a couple more in there. All my mothers family. Also is a small grave, not sure if marked, my mothers baby sister, died short time after birth. Things keep coming back to me . I used to go to pope mill mid 1950s, fishing for tadpoles in the pond. Am writing to Neville Williams, his mother was pask descending from pope mill. Regards.
