18-year-old charged with Friday's attempted robbery

Wednesday, 14th May 2014.

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with the attempted robbery at a store in Haverhill.

The incident occurred at around 7.35am on Friday, at the convenience store in Primrose Hill.

Mitchell Voller, 18, from Warren Court, Haverhill was arrested yesterday, and has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of a firearm while committing an offence (attempted robbery).

He appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court today.

Haverhill's police chief, Insp Peter Ferrie said there had been a lot of house-to-house inquiries carried out in the wake of the incident, in which another male was involved.

The shopkeper had been approached around 4.45am that day, before the shop opened by two males, one of whom he recognised, who wanted alcohol.

There was an argument and the men left. Later two masked individuals carried out the attempted robbery.
