Abbeycroft Leisure Gets Ready for the 2009 Sports Awards!

Abbeycroft Leisure is getting ready to host their 3rd annual Sports Awards at the Corn Exchange, Bury St.Edmunds on Sunday 27th September. The ceremony will recognise outstanding sporting achievements made by individuals and teams throughout the Borough of St Edmundsbury. The awards are open to all sports enthusiasts and volunteers who are affiliated to a club, part of a school or reside within the St Edmundsbury Area.

There are 12 categories to be contested including Sport Personality of the Year, Club of the Year, Unsung Hero Award to name a few. On the night the nominees and their families can look forward to a drink on arrival, followed by food and the award ceremony.

Amelia Epton, Sports Development Officer said “This is the 3rd year of the St Edmundsbury Sports Awards and we are looking forward to rewarding those who have dedicated so much of their time to sport. There is a remarkable amount of talent in this area and these awards will be a great opportunity to celebrate the excellent standard of sportsmen, women, coaches and clubs in the borough.”

Abbeycroft Leisure is urging all sports clubs in St Edmundsbury to nominate this year, whether you know someone who is young, old, able bodied, disabled, compete in sport or simply coach we would like to see your nominations! All nominations must be submitted to Abbeycroft Leisure by Monday 31st August 2009 at midnight. Entries received after this date will not be considered.
