An organisation set up to help and mentor new businesses in Haverhill has folded up after just six months.

Enterprising Acorns, set up last year by Jan Cavelle and Theresa Foddering, is shutting up shop.

It will not be carrying on with the Acorns events currently planned for which some local business people have booked in to speak or attend.

Karl Thackham of Enterprising Acorns, said: "We want to say a special thank you to all the mentors - various amazing people from all over East Anglia - who have given time to the scheme, which has been so exceptionally generous of them.

"In addition, we wish special luck to all the acorns launched during the last few months and wish them continued success in the future.

"It has been hugely exciting to watch several businesses being launched or receive help through the scheme and hear of the resulting success.

"If anyone is still seeking mentoring or advice, please feel free to email us and we will still try and pass your name on to someone suitable."
