Adding dash of colour to playtime
Thursday, 16th September 2004.
PRIMARY school pupils are enjoying a bright and cheery playground thanks to a group of DIY parents.
They have transformed an old shed in the grounds of Coupals Primary School, Haverhill into a clock and climbing poles into totem poles.
Play equipment was given a coat of paint and grids for games, including hopscotch and a maze, were painted on an area used by older pupils.
School governor Debbie Strowger led a group of parents who went to work on the playground during the holidays and had to avoid the rain to get it finished.
A school spokesman said: "It looks superb and the children really love it. We are very grateful to the parents."
