Appeal following ram raid

By Martin Chapman on Monday, 7th March 2005.

Police are appealing for information following a ram raid at a garage in Haverhill.

The incident occurred at around 3:40AM on Saturday, March 5th, when a car was ram raided in to Sainsburys Garage on Haycocks Road in Haverhill.

Police believe the offenders entered the store and forced the door on the cigarette cabinet and stole a quantity of tobacco.

The car used in the offence has previously been stolen from Kar Khange on Withersfield Road in town.

They then left the scene in a dark coloured saloon vehicle with a spoiler on the boot. It is believed that there were at least three offenders, all wearing balaclavas and hooded tops.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the offence or any suspicious activity in the early hours of Saturday March 5th. Anyone with information should either contact Suffolk Police on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
