Boom forces firm's move to new offices

Thursday, 16th August 2001.

BUSINESS is booming for a Haverhill recruitment consultancy which is about to move offices to cope with the growing demand for its services.

Iceni recruitment, currently in the High Street, specialises in permanent and temporary placements in engineering and accountancy.

The company was set up last year by senior consultants Cecilia Furner, 44, from Castle Camps and Lesley Green, 38, from Steeple Bumpstead,

Both have long track records in recruitment consultancy and, after working together in a Cambridge company, they decided to team up and open their own partnership closer to home.

Miss Furner said: "The business has just gone from strength to strength. Our new offices will eventually accommodate 10 people so we don’t have to move again."

The company is five-strong with the two senior consultants joined by consultant Mike Baldwin, 28, from Haverhill and two support staff, They hope to occupy 6 Jubilee Walk in time for the company’s first anniversary.

Most of their potential employees on their books are from the local area but they have one or two from rather exotic backgrounds.

Miss Furner said: "We have a printer from Beirut, an instrument technician from Chile and a Russian music teacher."

There is even a royal connection – the former personal valet to Lord Mountbatten has also used Iceni’s services.
