Building site vandals went on to target football nets

Friday, 19th March 2010.

Vandals who damaged fencing at the football project building site in Chalkstone Way on Tuesday night, also went on to damage football nets at the nearby upper school.

Damage to the nets at Samuel Ward Arts and Technology College playing field has been reported to police, who say it was caused by the same group of around ten young men being sought for the fence damage.

It happened between 5pm and 9.45pm. The group is described as aged around 17, with one male was wearing a white top, another a red top and the rest wearing dark tops.

Calls in relation to this incident should be made to PC Cheryl Claydon at Haverhill Police on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
