Burglars take no notice of holiday week

Wednesday, 4th May 2011.

Burglars were busy in Havetrhill last week, with several houses being targeted.

In Station Road, at around 8pm on Easter Monday a man attempted to break into a house by forcing a door but was disturbed by the occupant. He ran off towards The Pightle.

He is described as white, of slim build, 5ft 10in tall with short dark hair and was wearing a black or dark blue short-sleeved T-shirt.

Between Wednesday and Saturday in Waveney Terrace burglars broke into a house by smashing a window and stole jewellery.

In Meeting Walk between 12pm and 5pm burglars gained entry to a house through an insecure door and stole a handbag which was later found in an alleyway by the Old Independent church with cash missing.

And in Hazel Close between 11.30am and 5pm on Friday offenders gained entry to a house through an insecure door and stole an mp3 player and a games console.
