Business people to get an update from MP
Tuesday, 9th April 2013.
The town's MP will be the guest speaker at thebestofhaverhill's next business meeting next week.
The customary Thursday monthly networking event changes to a Friday in April as Matthew Hancock, joint parliamentary under secretary of state for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Education and Haverhill's MP, is required in Parliament on Thursdays.
Matthew will be joining local businesses and organisations at the bestof Haverhill for his annual update, his fourth appearance since he first spoke at the inaugural meeting in April 2010 as a prospective parliamentary candidate.
He will review his last 12 months in office, talk about his new role in the Government as well as discussing the issues that are affecting the town and the economy.
Elaine Carr, owner of thebestof Haverhill, said: “I know that Matthew has an even busier schedule now that he is a minister as well as our MP so I am really pleased that he can make the time to speak at our event again this year.
"Matthew is always keen to hear the views and concerns of local businesses and I know he will want to use our meeting as a forum to find out what the issues are for businesses in his constituency.
"I would encourage Haverhill businesses to attend this event, as it does present an excellent opportunity to make your voice heard on the challenges that your business faces.”
The free event is on Friday, April 19, at Haverhill Days Inn from 10am to 11.30am. If you would like to attend call Elaine Carr on 01440 710 158 or email Haverhill@thebestof.co.uk by Wednesday, April 17.
