Chamber breakfasts at the research park

Haverhill Chamber of Commerce members held a 'Full English' networking breakfast at Haverhill Research Park last week and were the first to see the new ‘fly-through’ video of The Epicentre project.
At the same time they were the first to be offered the opportunity to put down a £250 deposit for an office at The Epicentre which is shortly to start construction and expected to be completed for occupation in the autumn of 2015.
Helen Chaplin, marketing manager at Haverhill Research Park, who gave the presentation, said: “We were delighted to welcome the chamber for its networking breakfast and believe that the facilities we will be offering on a flexible basis at The Epicentre will appeal to the members.”
Paul Donno, chairman of the Haverhill Chamber, said: “What small companies need is modern 21st century space where they are not tied into long leases and which provides the necessary services that allow them to move in on day-one and get started with the minimum of hassle without it breaking the bank.”
The Epicentre, a 30,000 sq ft four-storey building, will create a landmark development adjacent to the lake in the centre of the park and provide facilities for start-up and growing businesses, and could generate up to 300 jobs in Haverhill.
It will include high specification offices and dry R&D accommodation as well as conference and meeting rooms, training facilities, and a coffee shop.
The development will offer a range of space sizes, from 170 sq ft to 7,000 sq ft, together with conference and meeting rooms, training facilities and a 'work-hub' area for shared working.
In the meantime and before completion of The Epicentre, ‘virtual’ occupants will be able to take advantage of the incentives on offer that include the use of the innovation centre address, a domain name, post handling and conference/meeting space at a reduced rate at the nearby Day’s Inn Hotel, where free Wi-Fi is also available to virtual office tenants.
A major attraction is the Cambridge postal code: The Epicentre, Haverhill Research Park Three Counties Way, Haverhill, Suffolk, CB9 7FB.
The Epicentre is to be run jointly with the park developer, Jaynic Developments, St Edmundsbury Council and the two funding partners, The Greater Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Enterprise Partnership (GCGP) and New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnerships (NALEP).
It will also provide business advice, integrated telecoms, broadband internet access and networking facilities.
Agents for the £100m park are Cheffins and Carter Jonas. Helen Chaplin is the park’s onsite manager.
