Chance to find out what LEPs are all about

Wednesday, 29th September 2010.

There is an opportunity to find out more about local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) at Menta's monthly breakfast meeting in Haverhill, the Very Early Lunch Club next week.

The Coalition Government is abolishing the Regional Development Agencies (like the East of England Development Agency EEDA) and giving businesses and local authorities the opportunity to work together to set economic priorities for their area.

The Government has invited proposals for new local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) that are to provide strategic leadership for economic renewal, working across the public and private sectors to tackle economic issues such as transport, skills and enterprise.

What does this mean to real businesses? Suffolk enterprise agency Menta will try and give you a short overview at the meeting on Thursday, October 7, from 7.45-9.15am at Frankie and Benny's in Ehringshausen Way.

By popular request Menta will also be allowing everyone 60 seconds to promote their business to the group, if they want to - and if there's time.

So give a little thought to a punchy word or two about what you do, and how it could help the other people there.
