Chance to have a say on schools admissions process

Wednesday, 2nd January 2013.

From tomorrow parents and carers across the county will be asked by Suffolk County Council to have their say over the proposed school admission process.

Parents have until Thursday, February 28, to comment on the draft admissions arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools in 2014/2015.

The proposed arrangements can be viewed online and the consultation can also be completed online: http://www.suffolk.gov.uk/your-council/decision-making/consultations/

Cllr Graham Newman, Suffolk County Council’s cabinet member for education and young people, said: “I would encourage parents and carers to go online to take a look at the proposed admissions procedures and tell us what they think.

“We know how passionate parents and carers are about their children’s education and this is a real opportunity for people to shape how the school admissions procedure works.”

The governing bodies of voluntary aided, foundation/trust schools, academies and free schools are responsible for admissions to their schools. If you want to view the arrangements for these schools you should contact the school direct.

Where schools have provided their admissions arrangements they can also be found at: http://www.suffolk.gov.uk/your-council/decision-making/consultations/

To comment on these arrangements please contact the school directly.
