Christmas is already here at Days Inn

Wednesday, 7th November 2012.

Anyone who has visited the Days Inn hotel in Haverhill since the beginning of October may have noticed their Christmas tree fully decorated and gracing a corner of the lounge.

While Christmas is definitely one of the highlights of the year for general manager Donna Revell and her team, dusting down the decorations in October is a little early even for them.

Donna said: “Every year we are keen to promote our accommodation, conferencing and function facilities over the festive season. In 2011 we bought Christmas costumes and had team photographs taken to use in our advertising campaign.

"This year we thought we would take the campaign a step further so, as well as dressing up and having new photographs, we decided to video the team singing Christmas songs and use the videos in our social media and email marketing.”

The Days Inn employed the expertise of several local companies to pull the campaign together. The Design Office was commissioned for the photography, David Doughty Video Services created the videos and FlipFlop Marketing coordinated the project.

Talented young singer Jade Donno was invited to help the team with their vocals and take the role of lead singer, while dressed as a fairy!

The Days Inn team have a reputation for their friendliness and sense of fun, as well as for being hard working and professional.

Newly-appointed guest services assistant Rob Sloane said: “I was really pleased to be offered a position at Days Inn and was excited to be joining them. I have to say, though, my first day in my new job was unlike any other I have ever experienced.

"Dressing up as a Christmas tree and singing Christmas songs while being videoed is not something I will forget in a hurry!”

Days Inn are running several Christmas offers including a three-night stay for £119, saving £59.50, for rooms booked from December 21 to the January 5; half-price conference room hire throughout December, saving £137.50; and one free night's stay and discounted room rates for all other guests on functions booked in December for 40 or more guests.

Donna said: “My overriding memory of this Christmas campaign will be the unexpected arrival of the hotel and restaurant inspector for AA Road Services, Mr Sean Henry!

"You can imagine my face when he turned up at reception with his clipboard. He was greeted by the sight of the entire team around the bar and a bright green fairy sitting on top of the bar leading the singing of our own rendition of The 12 Days of Christmas. It was priceless.

"I am pleased to say that, despite being shown around by a rather pink-cheeked Mrs Claus, we still passed with flying colours!”

Videos of the team and Jade singing Rockin around the Christmas tree, Santa Claus is coming to town and a very special version of The 12 Days of Christmas, can be viewed on the news page of the hotel’s website – www.haverhilldaysinn.co.uk.
