Councillors move to monthly surgeries in troubled times

Tuesday, 11th January 2011.

Two Haverhill borough councillors are upping their availability for the public to bring issues of concern to them in light of uncertainties over cuts to services.

Cllr Karen Richardson, who is also a town councillor, and Cllr Anne Gower, who is also a county and town councillor, will be hilding their 'surgeries' once a month from now on.

They say they feel this is important 'during these times of uncertainty for our residents concerning the big issues affecting us such as housing, benefits, provision for older people's care, fire service, jobs etc'.

The dates for the next four months are (all Saturdays): January 15, February 19, March 19 and April 16, all at 10-12noon in Haverhill Library.

If these dates are not convenient for any who wish to discuss any issue with them, you can use the contact numbers below.

Cllr Gower said: "We do hope you will take this opportunity to come along and meet with us and air your concerns or bring any problems so that we can represent your views, provide you with information and work to secure solutions for you."
