Crucial public meeting on Haverhill healthcare lined up

Monday, 16th September 2013.

The new group organising healthcare in the region is asking the public for ideas of how it can create a healthier Haverhill.

It is calling a public meeting at the Leisure Centre on Thursday, September 26, from 7.30pm. It says it had a great response to its initial public meeting which has helped public health experts put together a report and now it’s time to talk about the next steps.

The NHS West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) buys, plans and manages healthcare for people in west Suffolk. In Haverhill the CCG now has a health needs assessment – which gives it 'the bigger picture' of the current and future health and wellbeing needs in Haverhill. This will form part of the wider Suffolk Joint Strategic Needs Assessment.

It says it now wants to share the Haverhill health needs assessment report with the public. It says people’s thoughts and ideas can help it shape ‘what it can reasonably do’ to help improve health in Haverhill.

The meeting is open to all but space is limited so you have to book by emailing getinvolved@westsuffolkccg.nhs.uk or calling 01284 774794.

If anyone can’t make it on the day, but is interested to hear more, they are urged to get in touch.
