Cup run comes to an end

Thursday, 7th December 2000.

YEAR 11 are hard at work revising for mock examinations next week and the weather seems constantly dull and gloomy.

Pupils however are working hard to practising fort this year's production of Stars in their Eyes, to be performed on the last day of term.

Year 9 boys have been out to work with their parents and all reports back have been really positive.

Year 12 were off timetable last week in order to enhance their key skills. Of the more imaginative activities there was yoga, driving, young enterprise, and a visit to the London Eye, where maths and science students worked on a range of problems.

Our year 11 cup run with the boys football side came to an end last Saturday against a strong Thurston side. Missing a few first team players and our regular goalkeeper, the team missed chances in front of goal and went into half time a goal down.

Although they battled away, further goals from Thurston gave them a slightly flattering scoreling of 5-0.

Good luck to our girls footballers on Tuesday as they take on Stowupland in the county under 19's semi-finals. The side have never beaten Stowupland and have lost three cup finals to them, so hopefully we can reverse our fortunes this week.
