Drop off point for appeal

Thursday, 29th November 2001.

HAVERHILL Volunteer Centre is to be a centralized drop off point for the Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal organized by GMTV.

Boxes must be dropped off at the centre at 6b High Street, Haverhill, by December 14. They will then be taken to the Cambridge Kwikfit centre and transported on.

The boxes will be sent to Afghanistan and should include gifts which are not individually wrapped. A photograph or letter can be included and a £2 cheque made payable to GMTV Shoebox appeal is needed for collection and processing costs.

Small toys, not war related, can be included, as well as games, stationery, cuddly toys, wrapped sweets, toiletries scarves and gloves.

Not to be included are marbles, batteries, powered toys, aerosols, liquid containers such as bubble bath or shampoo, perishable foods, glass containers, mirrors or fragile objects.

Anyone who would like to help the appeal can contact the volunteer centre on 01440 708444.
