Early tips on how to survive being self-employed

Thursday, 1st July 2010.

Enterprise agency Menta is holding another of its Haverhill Very Early Lunch Club meetings on Thursday, July 8, from 7.45-9.15am at Frankie and Benny's in the town.

The speaker this time is John Porter from Business Improvements Ltd and his theme is: Surviving 25 years of self-employment (even through three recessions...).

In these days where up to 70 per cent of businesses go under within their first year it is a benefit to all to welcome someone who has defied all these statistics and is proof that you can actually be your own boss for over 25 years!

John has helped numerous people improve their careers, lifestyle, businesses, income and happiness, and being a trainer and coach for Business Improvements allows him to focus on doing just that.

His experience in the business world over the last 40 years enables him to coach and train others to improve their time management, sales, marketing, management skills, team development, customer service, and organisational structures and procedures.

He has been of particular help to family businesses. This either includes working with the founder (looking to pass the business over) or the offspring (taking over the control).
