February and the exams begin!

By Martin Chapman on Thursday, 8th February 2001.

IN what has been quite a week for the school, we welcomed the county advisor for geography into lessons to assist with the teaching of information computing technology.

Year 12 students have started sitting their AS exams this month, good luck to all those pupils taking part.

In what can be a very difficult time for both staff and pupils everyone has adapted well to a new curriculum.

Last Friday, a group of sixth form and Year 9 French students were taken to see an exhibition called Vive La France at Olympia in London. The trip was enjoyed by all.

As part of the Year 12 new AS drama studies and in preparation for the Year 13 A-level performance of A Servant To Masters, students took part in a comedia del arte workshop run by the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds. Students have already seen the performance by the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Company in Cambridge.

Let’s hope they out-do last year’s results where eight out of nine students were awarded grade As for Our Country’s Good and the performance was described as wonderful by the examiner.
