Galfers battle through frost and snow

The midweek medal played at Haverhill Golf Club on Wednesday, February 10, was hampered by frost and yet more snow - however the competition went ahead as a non-qualifier over one division.
Even with the wintry conditions, the winner Dean Cornelius, returned a very commendable 80-11-69. In second place was Haverhill junior Chris Vince 80-6-74 and in third place Jim Walker with 85-8-77.
The Ladies Rosebowl Final, which comprises all the medal winners for 2009/2010 season was played on Saturday, February 13.
The winner with a nett score of 74 was Sheila Price. In second place was Sue Carr with a nett 76 and in third place Mary Sail with a nett 77.
Seckford Juniors visited Haverhill for the first round of the Suffolk Junior Team Golf Championship on Sunday February 14.
The home team of Chris Vince, Lewis Whiting, Michael Perritt and Liam Merritt had a runaway victory with a fantastic team score of 108, beating Seckford Juniors by 22pts.
Seckford and Haverhill have also been drawn against each other to play their next county fixture in the Suffolk Junior Handicap Cup on March 13, at Haverhill.
