Girl accosted near Tesco on Boxing Day

Wednesday, 30th December 2009.

Police are investigating two accostings of children which took place in Haverhill over the Christmas period.

At about 1.30pm on Boxing Day a 13-year-old girl was followed by a man who spoke to her and then touched her on the shoulder.

She walked off but her continued to follow her until she called police from her mobile phone.

The incident happened in Cangle Road, near the Tesco supermarket, and the man then walked off down Wratting Road.

He is described as Asian, between 30 and 35 years old, with gaps between his teeth, and was wearing a green jacket, light coloured jeans and black boots.

In an unrelated incident, a 13-year-old boy was playing on a green area at Barnby Close at around 7.30pm on December 23, when a hand wearing a black glove reached through a bush towards him, he ran off.
