Great back nine gives top spot to Stuart

The midweek medal at Haverhill Golf Club on Wednesday, March 10, saw all three division winners sharing a nett 67.
However, Stuart Haworth was the overall winner on countback after his great score of a gross three over on the back nine.
Haverhill junior Harvey Bavester had the lowest gross score of the day with 77-10-67.
The full results were as follows: Division One, 1 Harvey Bavester 77-10-67; 2 Michael Goldsmith 85-11-74; 3 Mark Stanton 86-12-74.
Division Two, 1 Stuart Haworth 87-20-67; 2 Howard Ward 84-17-67; 3 Stewart Johnstone 89-18-71.
Division Three, 1 Patrick Bowes 90-23-67; 2 David Elliot 99-23-76; 3 Ray Kings 100-22-78.
All the medal winners throughout the 2009/10 season played in the Rosebowl Final on Sunday, March 14. Francis Gooch scooped the prize with a runaway victory with a score of 89-24-65 from second-placed Mark Firman 83-13-70 on countback from third-placed Eric Kiddle 79-9-70.
The Junior Team Handicap Cup Round One match against Seckford was played at home on Saturday, March 1.
The result was a resounding success for Haverhill, winning 6-0, and the results were as follows: Chris Vince (H) won against Tom Piddington (S), Harvey Bavester (H) won against Sam Pollexfen (S), Ed Baker (H) won against Charlotte Double (S), Mike Perrett (H) won against Jack Cuthbert (S), Lewis Whiting (H) won against Adam Clough (S) and Richard Boyles (H) won against Ryan Colbear (S).
The seniors played two matches last week. On Thursday,March 11, they lost at Newton Green 5-3 and the next day they halved their match at home against Colne Valley 5-5.
