Half-Term Fun at The Apex

Tuesday, 6th October 2015.

It may feel like the school summer holidays are only just over, but it’ll be October half-term soon!

The Apex has two lovely shows especially for children: Hansel and Gretel on 26 October is a fun-filled, feel-good feast for children aged 3+, but beware - it may contain witches! Hansel and Gretel aren't greedy; they just want a better life for themselves and their father. Unfortunately, the large cottage built of gingerbread, cakes and sugar is not as sweet as it seems and the pair need the help of the forest fairy to pull their world back from the brink of disaster. This show includes amazing magic and comedy - as well as dragons, illusions and maybe a custard pie or two!

The following day sees Hubbub - a Musical Adventure for ages 4 and over. On 27 October your children can join a magical, musical journey on the trail of the mysterious blue beetle and the quest for a lost voice. With original live music performed by musicians from the celebrated Aurora Orchestra, this enchanting new show is sure to captivate children and their adults alike.

Media-mad teenagers can take part in an exciting 3 Day Film Rush from 26-28 October. Teams of 5 are challenged to write, shoot and edit a short film in just 3 days, using smart phones, tablets and professional camera equipment, supported by members of the Offshoot Film Foundation and West Suffolk College.

Celebrate the art of drawing in The Big Draw on 29 October, with a range of free workshops for ages 5+ running from 10am – 4pm, including adding to a never ending story, creating your own comic, or contributing to our giant newspaper projection! The finished creations will be displayed in a showcase exhibition from 6pm – 8pm.

Don’t be left out in the cold, book tickets now by calling the Box Office on 01284 758000, or visiting www.theapex.co.uk
