Handbag snatcher runs off into Chalkstone estate

Monday, 27th January 2014.

A woman had her handbag snatched at Frankie and Benny's restaurant in Haverhill at lunchtime today.

The incident happened around 1.45pm and the thief made off past the cinema, through the car park and onto Railway Walk.

Her is described as a white male of medium height, wearing a blue baseball cap, navy blue jacket or jumper and grey tracksuit bottoms.

* Police are appealing for information after a burglary in Haverhill.

The incident occurred between 6pm Saturday and 10.30am next morning at an address in Mill Hill.

Thieves got in via a rear window and an untidy search was then carried out, but no items are believed to have been stolen.

Haverhill's police chief, Insp Peter Ferrie confirmed high visibility patrols had been increased in the wake of a rise in the number of burglaries in the last week or two.
