Haverhill Beer Festival returns

Monday, 27th June 2016.

Residents and visitors to Haverhill will be able to enjoy beers, ciders, street food and live music this weekend as a popular event makes its return.

The Haverhill Craft Beer and Cider Festival organised by Market Square Group on behalf of St Edmundsbury Borough Council, makes its return after a successful inaugural event last year.

The two day event will feature more than 30 local, national and international ales ciders and lagers, street foods, grocery foods including cheeses, cured meats and craft stalls.

There will be live music throughout the festival which runs on the Market Square from 10am to 9pm on Saturday 2 July and 11am to 7pm on Sunday 3 July.

Cllr John Griffiths, leader of St Edmundsbury Borough Council, said: “Haverhill’s first beer festival last on the Market Square last summer was a real success. The response from residents and visitors was great, and the atmosphere brilliant, so we wanted to put this on again.
“We will have lots of craft beers, ciders and food to tempt the taste buds. There will also be craft stalls and live music, plus we have our general market on the Saturday so I am confident that this year’s event will be as successful as last year, if not even more so.”

Paul Kennedy from the Market Square Group said: “Clearly there is an appetite for original craft beers in Haverhill and we will be expanding on the range that we brought last year.
“We are now seeing a huge amount of activity in the beer trade with both microbreweries, midsize breweries and the big boys all competing to produce new and original products. We will be looking to bring an interesting selection of these to Haverhill.”
