Haverhill Cats Protection Group Event

Tuesday, 23rd October 2007.

A team of dedicated volunteers from the Haverhill and Stour Valley Cats Protection group will be hosting a rescue event with a difference on November 10th at the Salvation Army Hall in Chauntry Road, Haverhill, Suffolk.

A bazaar will be held from 10am to 12pm and in the afternoon members of the public will be able to meet and greet several friendly homeless cats from the local area. Volunteers are hoping one or two of their rescue cats might find their forever home and a new lap to sleep on in time for Christmas.

During the afternoon local singer/songwriter Maria Daines will be personally signing copies of her cd Music United For Animals and cds will be sold at half price for one day only with all proceeds donated to Cats Protection.

Co-ordinator and welfare officer, Julia Sowden, said the afternoon's events, like a rehoming roadshow, will be a lot of fun for the cats who generally feel very special meeting new friends.

The cats will be available to view from 1pm until 4pm and volunteers hope to raise some much needed funds for equipment and veterinary costs. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be on sale all day.
