Man arrested for thefts of motor-bikes

Wednesday, 5th March 2014.

A man has been arrested after two motorbikes were stolen and another was taken without consent in Haverhill.

The most recent incident occurred between 11.30am on Saturday, February 22, and 6.20am on Monday, February 24, in Covehite Court.

A garage was broken into and a red and black Longjia moped was stolen from inside.

This incident is being linked with another theft of a motorbike earlier this year, when a black Aprila 125 was stolen from the street in Chauntry Road, on Monday, January 6.

Both bikes have since been recovered and a 19-year-old man from Haverhill has been arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle in relation to these incidents.

He was also arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without consent - a Yamaha 125, in Piperell Way on Monday, February 3.

The man has been bailed to return to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on Tuesday, March 25.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact PC Robert Williams at Haverhill Police Station on 101, quoting reference HH/14/371, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
