Man attacks youths with garden shears

Wednesday, 20th April 2011.

Two youths were attacked by a man wielding a pair of shears after a late-night argument in Camps Road, Haverhill, on Friday.

The incident happened between 12.40am and 12.45am on Friday morning. Police are appealing for information after two 17-year-old boys reported being assaulted by a man with a pair of garden shears. Neither were hurt.

The boys were outside a pub when they had a argument with the man and two other men before walking off.

The three men then drove up in an old-style Vauxhall Corsa, the man got out and removed the shears from the boot before assaulting the boys.

The boys ran off and the car drove off towards Wratting Road.

The first man is described as white, 6ft tall, in his late 40s to early 50s with short grey hair and was wearing a black suit with a white shirt but no tie.

The second man is described as white, 6ft 5in tall, in his 20s and was wearing a black jumper and jeans.

The third man is described as white, of eastern European descent, 5ft 8in tall, in his 20s and was wearing a blue jumper, tracksuit bottoms, a cap and hooped earrings.
