Man ended up in hospital after Chalkstone Way attack

Monday, 1st July 2013.

Haverhill police have confirmed a man was attacked by two men near the Snooker and Bowl Club in Chalkstone Way early on Saturday morning.

They are appealing for witnesses after the man, from Haverhill and in his 20s ended up in Addenbrooke's Hospital after the attack.

Officers were called to Chalkstone Way just before 3.10am and the man was found at the scene semi-conscious and with head injuries.

A car, possibly a dark coloured Fiat Punto, was seen driving away from the area.

An investigation has begun to ascertain exactly what took place, although police say it is believed the man, who is in his twenties, was assaulted by two men.

He remained in hospital yesterday but his injuries were not thought to be serious.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
