Multi-sports sessions for five to 15s

Monday, 17th May 2010.

Youngsters will be able to try out football, basketball, cricket, athletics and table tennis at an eight-week multi sports session in Haverhill, run by Ipswich Town Community Trust.

The sessions, starting on Wednesday, May 19, at Haverhill Leisure Centre, are aimed at young people aged between five and 15, with additional need or disability. However, young people of all abilities are welcome to attend, including their siblings or friends.

Trained coaches will deliver the session, but where a high level of care is required, the young person will need to bring one-to-one support.

Amelia Epton, Abbeycroft Leisure’s sports development officer, said: “This session is aimed at youngsters in the Haverhill area who have additional needs or a disability, who want to come along and try out new activities along with their friends or siblings. It will run for eight weeks with coaches from the Ipswich Town Community Trust.”

Supported by Ability Counts and Activities Unlimited, the sessions run from 4pm to 5pm and cost £8 for eight weeks. To book, visit Haverhill Leisure Centre or telephone 01440 702548.
