Museum seeks volunteer to help with world first

Saturday, 20th November 2010.

Haverhill's nationally-acclaimed Computer Museum is seeking a volunteer to help in creating another world first.

The museum is embarking on creating the most detailed computing history timeline ever created.

Museum director Jason Fitzpatrick said: "We will be using vintage Computer Weekly magazines dating back to 1963 and various other sources.

"The work is based online, so it is a case of collecting a few magazines from the museum and then entering the events into our website via an online admin system, so the work can be done from home.

"Someone with an internet connection, an interest in computing history and some spare time would be ideal."

The museum website is a first class resource for anyone researching the history of computing. It is used by schools and universities across the world.

The museum is a charity, has been established for over four years and has been involved with many TV programs, documentaries and exhibitions.
