New networking event gets off to a lively start

A new networking event launched in Haverhill this week received a warm reception from local business people.
Elaine Carr, owner of marketing consultancy FlipFlop Marketing Ltd and marketing services agency thebestofhaverhill, hosted the evening at Days Inn, Haverhill.
Office Drinks has been established in Bury St Edmunds for over a year and, following the success of the event in the town the owners, Baz and Lynette Green, decided to make the business model available in other areas – including Haverhill, Thetford, Diss, Ipswich and London.
The Haverhill event attracted businesses from the town as well as Clare, Sudbury, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge.
Elaine said: “We have had some great feedback about the event. People thought it was a lot of fun and something a bit different. There was a real buzz in the room and I am sure that business will be generated from the contacts made.
"I certainly enjoyed organising the event and am looking forward to the next one on November 1. It’s a good networking opportunity for those business owners who aren’t used to networking or don’t like walking into a room full of strangers.
"Office Drinks throws people together and gives everyone the opportunity to talk about their business in a relaxed and sociable environment. The new decor, furniture and lighting at the Days Inn Haverhill helps to create a relaxed atmosphere. It’s a first class venue.”
Office Drinks in Haverhill will usually take place on the first Tuesday of the month, from 6.30pm until 9pm, at the Days Inn Haverhill Kingfisher lounge and bar. Tickets cost £9 and are available to purchase online at www.officedrinks.co.uk.
Places are limited to 25 and it is advisable to book early. The next event is on November 1, followed by December 6. The January 2012 event will take place on Thursday 5th due to the Christmas holidays.
