A new women-only networking event, the Venus Business Circle, is being launched in Haverhill by local businesswoman Elaine Carr.
The quarterly lunchtime meeting will take place at Haverhill Golf Club from 12-2pm with the inaugural meeting on Friday, April 4.
The focus of the meetings will be to offer marketing advice and support to women who are in business, either as business owners or employees.
There will be a guest speaker at each event to talk about a marketing-related topic. In April local image and style consultant Loraine Callow will be explaining the importance of personal branding, sharing tips on how to dress to impress and advice on using clothes to improve confidence.
Elaine has run her own marketing consultancy, FlipFlop Marketing Ltd, since 2002 and took over the franchise for thebestof Haverhill marketing agency in 2010.
With a strong background in marketing and a passion for her subject Elaine explained the rationale behind the launch of the new group. She said: “Women only networking groups have been growing in popularity and I thought it was about time Haverhill had our own event located in the town.
"The Golf Club is a lovely venue. It offers free and plentiful parking and with a wide selection of sandwiches and hot food at very reasonable prices is quite appropriate for a lunchtime meeting.
"With the upturn in the economy businesses are starting to feel more confident. They need to be equipped to take full advantage of the opportunities that are on the horizon.
"In my opinion knowing how to market is absolutely critical and we’ll be using the Venus Business Circle to help and support local business woman to learn how to market their companies more effectively.”
This is a free event, but attendees will be responsible for the cost of their own lunch and refreshments, which will be payable directly to Haverhill Golf Club.
