PCCs across the region to recruit lawyers to chair hearings into allegations of police misconduct

Monday, 7th September 2015.

Suffolk's Police and Crime Commissioner Tim Passmore has joined forces with PCCs across the region to recruit lawyers to chair hearings into
allegations of police misconduct.

The recruitment is in preparation for changes that are being made in the new year when changes to the police complaints system will mean that from January 1 2016 misconduct panels will no longer be chaired by the police.

Suffolk's PCC will work with PCCs from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Norfolk to recruit up to 20 qualified lawyers
to chair the misconduct panels. They are looking for individuals who can demonstrate integrity, sound judgement, objectivity and a commitment to
equality, diversity and inclusion. The successful candidates will undergo security vetting and training and be expected to preside over hearings held across the six counties.

Details of how to apply are on the PCCs website www.suffolk-pcc.gov.uk.

All application queries can be directed to OPCC Norfolk by emailing
OPCCN@norfolk.pnn.police.uk or calling 01953 424455.

Closing date for applications is Friday, 25th September 2015.
