Police ask for help to catch robber

Friday, 23rd April 2010.

Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Haverhill earlier this month.

A man was walking along Chainey Pieces footpath at around 6.45pm on Thursday, April 1, when a man with a dog appeared from bushes, pulled him to the ground and assaulted him.

The man stole keys, cash and a mobile phone from him. The victim managed to free himself and ran off, but he suffered bruising and a cut to his torso.

The robber is described as white, over 6ft tall, in his early 20s, of muscular build with short hair and stubble and chipped, uneven teeth and was wearing round glasses, dark trousers, a dark hooded top and dark trainers.

He was carrying a knife. The dog was a young black and white Akita husky.

Anyone with information which could help the investigation into this incident should call DC Paul Gant at West Suffolk CID on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
