Police seek woman who went missing in a Smart car

Monday, 12th December 2011.

Police are appealing for help in tracing a 56-year-old woman from Haverhill who was reported missing on Saturday afternoon.

Janet Newitt was last seen around 9am on Wednesday morning, when she left to go to work in Cambridge in her Smart car, registration AG06 CEX. She was reported missing to police around 1pm on Saturday.

Mrs Newitt is described as white, around 5ft 6in tall, of medium to broad build, with greying dark collar length straight hair, and may wear glasses. At the time she left she was wearing a red/pink striped top and black trousers.

Her disappearance is said to be out of character and there is concern for her safety. Officers are carrying out enquiries to locate her and her vehicle and are appealing for any sightings of her or the car.

Police are asking Mrs Newitt, anyone who may have seen her since Wednesday, or anyone with information about where she is now, to call Suffolk Police on 101.
