Pop-in seminar on security for all businesses

Wednesday, 15th June 2011.

Businesses across Suffolk are being invited to a special seminar in Bury St Edmunds about security, organised by the Safer Neighbourhood Teams, which are led by police and made up of various agencies including county and district councils.

The seminar, on Friday, June 24, will run from 10am to 4.15pm, but is designed as a 'come and go' event, where all from the business community are welcome to pop in at any time of day to listen to particular speakers or visit trade stands.

The event is beng held in the Athenaeum and guest speakers include Bury St Edmunds MP David Ruffley, a Home Office Minister (person tbc), Mike Schuck, operational director of the Association of British Crime Partners, Mark Bowerman, of the Payments Council, Matthew Spall of Suffolk Trading Standards Scams and Suffolk’s Trusted Trader scheme, Mr Smith, a reformed offender, on how and why he burgled businesses and residences(outside Suffolk), Dougie Paine a counter terrorism security advisor from Suffolk Constabulary, a member of the Economic
Crime Unit at Suffolk Constabulary, and Adrian Archer, on siting and how to get the best out of CCTV.

There will also be a wide range of trade stands, including Securitas (Incorporating Chubb
Security), Smart Water, Selecta DNA, Red Web, Compound Security, Anglian Burglar Alarms, Ultra Secure Direct, Tracker, Tracker UK Ltd, Vapormatic, Security by Design, Gallagher Access Control, Tensor Access Control, Winkhaus locks and CCTV in focus.

Once you have registered at this event, you will be given a voucher entitling you to have your business vehicles' windows security etched free either on the day, or at a later date and at any location to suit your business.
