Reptiles return among other things at centre

Monday, 26th July 2010.

Haverhill Leisure Centre will be offering youngsters a whole host of new attractions for this year’s summer holidays.

For the first time, the centre will be holding sessions for youngsters in fencing, crazy golf, mountain biking, dance mats and archery alongside popular activities including laser blast and kangoo jumping.

The reptile experience will be back which allows children to get up close to snakes and lizards, plus there’s the new fur and feathers session where children can see meerkats, an African hedgehog and a chinchilla.

The centre has also introduced activity clubs for different age groups at which youngsters can try out a number of different sports and activities. There will also be a free event where families can try out racket sports.

Michelle Banfield-Curran, Abbeycroft Leisure’s sports development Officer, said: “This year we wanted to make sure that for each day there are activities for every age group which will allow parents with children of different ages to find something for all of them at the same time and on the same day.

“The new activities alongside some of our more popular sessions and combined with the new activity clubs makes this year’s summer holiday programme our best ever.”
