Research park to be showcased in China

Tuesday, 25th March 2014.

Haverhill Research Park is to be showcased to Jiangsu Province in China as part of an East of England promotional package, and filming has been taking place this week at the park.

The initiative is being led by the international trade and development team at Essex County Council and is also backed by Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils.

Helen Chaplin from the Haverhill Research Park marketing team said: “We are delighted that the park will form part of this East of England promotion.

"We feel that Haverhill has a great deal to offer inward investors as does the whole region with its excellent road, rail and air communications, highly qualified population and great housing and educational facilities.”

Haverhill Research Park’s innovation centre, currently the subject of a planning application, is likely to be of interest to Chinese technology companies considering locating in the East of England.

Essex County Council has enjoyed a 25-year relationship with Jiangsu Province primarily to foster educational and cultural links. Over the years it has developed the link to be a highly effective portal to encourage inward investment and trade.

Jiangsu is a particularly attractive region of China as they have the highest GDP per capita of all provinces in China contributing ten per cent of China’s entire GDP.

Marketing of Haverhill Research Park is getting under way this year now that the infrastructure is completed. The park will provide a maximum of 450,000 sq ft of office/laboratory/technology and supporting accommodation for a wide spectrum of companies from start-ups to global players.

Agents for the scheme are Carter Jonas and Cheffins.
