Rover And Out For Cup Heroes

Thursday, 9th November 2006.

Haverhill's heroic FA Cup team is already being dismantled, just weeks after their run in the competition was ended by Conference side Aldershot.

Paul Jenkin, Jamie Challis, Charlie Henry and Ian Salt all played their part in getting Rovers into the fourth qualifying round of the FA cup for the first time in the Hamlet Croft club's 125-year existence.

But Jenkin and Challis have both left to go travelling and on-loan Salt and Henry have been recalled by Cambridge City.

The departures come on top of the long-term injuries to Paul Abbott (broken leg), Neil Cogger (stress fracture), Mark Abbott (ankle ligaments) and Richard Heller (hamstring)

Rovers boss Steve Taylor said: "I didn't want to lose anyone, but we have had a situation where a few players have left for various reasons, but it is my job to keep the players we have got left."
