Series of overnight creeper burglaries continues

Thursday, 22nd August 2013.

Police are appealing for information after a series of burglaries in Haverhill.

One happened between 4am and 8am on Monday in Ovington Place, when a house was entered via an insecure rear door and a pink Hewlett Packard laptop and approximately £250 in cash were stolen.

Another occurred between 12.20am and 4.15am last Friday in Horsham Close, where a house was entered by removing a window that had been left open and several items were stolen from inside including a black Advent laptop, an Amazon Kindle and over £100 in cash.

Anyone with information about either of these incident is asked to contact DC Benjamin Clark at Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

There was also an attempted burglary at 12.30am last Friday in Downs Crescent. The residents were asleep upstairs when they were woken by noises outside the front of the house and on turning on the bedroom light, heard a car drive off.

The next morning they discovered that a small window in the living room was wide open and the blind had been pulled all the way up with the cords hanging outside. It appears that the offenders were scared off, so no entry was gained and no items were stolen.

Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact PC Richard Oldroyd at Haverhill Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
