Sex Attack On Woman In Car
Friday, 27th February 2004.
A woman was indecently assaulted by a man who got into her car.
The 43-year-old was sitting in a car in Covehite Court, Haverhill, when the incident took place.
The victim, from Halstead, Essex, said two men approached, opened the car door and asked if she had any money.
One of the men then got into the car and indecently assaulted her. She struggled and struck him in the face before both men ran away. The assault happened at about 6.20pm on Saturday, February 7th.
Det Insp Dave Rutherford said: "This was a particularly nasty incident which left the victim extremely shaken. We believe that the offender received a cut lip during the struggle, so would like to hear from ayone who knows a colleague, friend, relative or partner who sustained a similar injury on Saturday, February 7th. Perhaps you witnessed two men running away from the area, but thought nothing of it at the time?"
The man who got into the car was white, in his mid to late 20s, 5ft 8in of medium build with very dark, short brown hair spiked up at the front. He was wearing dark denim jeans, a jacket, a taupe-coloured round-neck T-shirt, white trainers and a ring on the middle finger of his right hand.
The second man, who was not involved in the assault, was also white, 5ft 5in, of stocky build, with light brown hair with a fringe. He wore a black quilted jacket and pale blue jeans.
