Slinky slimmers all fired up for finals

TWO SLIMMERS visited Haverhill Fire Station this week to show they were too hot to handle, after being awarded the title “Miss Slinky 2001”.
Karen Olley and Elaine Bastian have lost a massive six stones between them and have both been entered in the national finals of the contest, for those who can now fit into slinky party dresses.
They will now meet head to head in the competition, with a £1,000 cash prize up for grabs.
Julie Collis, who runs the Slimming World Class at Haverhill which both women attend, arranged the trip to the fire station as a treat.
“We had a vote in class for Miss Slinky and for their idea of sexy men. Our firefighters came out at No. 1 so I arranged a treat for Karen and Elaine for being good sports to meet the firemen and present them with bouquets,” Julie said.
Elaine, 38, who lives in Birdvrook, has lost almost four stones since May.
Karen, 41, who lives on the Chimswell estate in Haverhill, has lost nearly two stones since April. Anyone interested in Julie’s classes should ring (01440) 708673.
