Spate of thefts from cars goes on

Thursday, 21st January 2010.

Haverhill police have re-iterated their recent warning about not leaving valuable items in cars, after some more thefts overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, this time in Beaumont Court and Manor Farm Close.

In Beaumont Court between 8.30pm on Tuesday and 6.30am yesterday thieves got into an insecure black Vauxhall Zafira on a driveway and stole a purse and a laptop.

And in Manor Farm Close, between 10pm Tuesday and 11.15am yesterday they broke into a blue Renault Megane by forcing a window and stole a sat nav, an iPod and a radio.

In another incident, in Friar Close, Haverhill between 4.20am and 4.25am this morning (Thursday)a man was disturbed looking into two cars on a driveway, one of which had the boot open.

The man walked off towards Blackmore Close. He is described as white, in his mid 20s, between 5ft 8in and 6ft tall with dark hair and was wearing a brown suede jacket.
