St John Ambulance looks for volunteers

Thursday, 15th October 2009.

The St John Ambulance in Haverhill is looking for more volunteers to help continue its work supporting the community.

St John Ambulance provides first aid care and support across Suffolk and Haverhill volunteers are regularly involved in supporting regional high-profile events such as Newmarket Races, stock cars at Foxhall and football at Ipswich, as well as providing first aid cover at local events, including the Thurlow Steam Rally and the Christmas Late Night Shopping in Haverhill town centre.

Tony Farrant, the Haverhill divisional superintendent, said: "We have a fantastic team at Haverhill, but it would great to welcome new adult volunteers. We’d like to hear from anyone interested in finding out more about life as a volunteer with St John Ambulance. All training and uniform is provided by the organisation and you can do as many or as few duties as you wish."

Anyone who lives in the Haverhill area and would like to learn new skills, help the local community, have some great times and make new friends can go along and join.

If you would like to find out more about the opportunities within St John Ambulance Haverhill, call Mr Farrant on 01440 710194 or email Deborah Parr, divisional secretary on debz_58_2000@yahoo.co.uk
