Suffolk leads the way with top quality award

SUFFOLK Trading Standards will be presented a prestigious award next Tuesday by the Legal Services Commission for the quality of advice given to consumers.
The Community Legal Service award is a government initiative aimed at ensuring everyone has access to high quality legal advice and information, and is one of the first to be awarded regionally. It recognises the consistently high level of service provided by citizen advice bureaux, legal firms and trading standards department to consumers.
The award will be presented by Peter Topping, regional director of the Legal Services Commission on Tuesday to Peter Monk, councillor for Public Protection on Tuesday in Ipswich.
Discussing the award Peter Monk of Suffolk County Council said: “The award recognises the advice we provide is second to none and as a result we have saved people money, and ensured they haven’t been ripped off.”
The trading standards advice line is open from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Fridays and can be contacted on (01473) 5843358.
