Summer fayre promises food from around the world

Tuesday, 17th June 2014.

St Felix Catholic Church in Haverhill is holding a summer fayre on Saturday from 12 noon to 4pm.

Entry is free at the Princess Way site and there will be a bouncy castle together with stalls that include plants, food and preserves from around the world, bottle tombola, books, cards, CDs and DVDs, and raffle tickets at £1 each.

The first prize is free accommodation for a week in a fully furnished apartment in Funchal, Madeira, in December 2014, and the second and third prizes will be cash, with more than a dozen prizes of various items as well as spirits and wines.

Haverhill town mayor Cllr Roger Andre and deputy mayor Cllr Maureen Byrne will attend from 1 to 3pm, when they will draw the winning tickets.

All proceeds from the fayre will be used towards repaying the loan to complete the new St Felix church.
