Tennis team win first away match
Monday, 10th May 2010.
In the Halstead and District Tennis League the Haverhill Men’s A team played their first match of the season away, beating Sudbury B 7-2.
Nigel Fitch & Ross Tobin won 3-6, 6-0, 6-4; Adam Fowle & Jake Warner won 6-3, 6-2, 6-3; Pete Cannon & Stuart Read won 4-6, 6-1, 7-5, all vs. J Ruse & D Pearl, R Anderson & S Pritchard and S Challis & I Davis respectively.
Warner hadn‘t played for over a year but contested really well. Fitch & Tobin were disappointed to lose their first set but made amends with the other two.
