Thieves take boxes of Walnut Whips and After Eights

Tuesday, 7th January 2014.

Two thieves stole £40 worth of chocolates from just inside the door of Poundland in High Street yesterday lunchtime.

Police are asking if anyone saw the incident, at around 12.35pm, when two males wearing hoodies took about 20 boxes of Walnut Whips and After Eights.

The incident was captured on CCTV, but the hoods concealed the identity of the thieves, thought to be between 5ft 8in and 5ft 11in tall.

Police are keen to talk to anyone who might have seen anything and can give a more detailed description, or anyone who has been offered the items for sale.

* Police are also seeking witnesses to an incident which occurred between 3.5pm and 3.15pm on the footpath behind Tesco, when a girl had her mobilt phone stolen.

Two teenage were walking along the path when two 6ft men aged around 18 brushed against them and stole a Nokia Lumia 520 black mobile phone worth £200.

The men wore black hoodies with the hoods up, and one had a red jumper and curly black hair.
